ABOUT STUART

Stuart Forrester is the President for Black Mountain Resources, supporting global electrification through the sustainable recovery of valuable minerals from Australia’s abundant natural resources.

Stuart is a mining professional with 20 years of international experience across various industries. He has expertise in leadership, operations, business development, greenfield and brownfield projects. His experiences include roles with Rio Tinto’s Iron Ore division, Iluka Resources (Australia and USA) and Chemours (USA). Stuart was also President of the U.S. privately-owned company Southern Ionics Minerals, leading the successful turnaround and sale of that business to The Chemours Company.

Through a range of various roles, Stuart has developed unique skills for leading high performing teams. He was recognised as the ‘Champion of Women in Resources’ at both the WA CME Women in Resources Awards and Women in Resources National Awards. Stuart was also nominated for the WA Business News 40under40 Award.

Stuart was born and raised in the Midwest region of Western Australia, completing a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering at Curtin University and is a graduate of Australian Institute of Company Directors.
